AMCAL is disregarding the very high fire danger found here

The county ordinance states: Sec. 8107-41.3.3 – Standards for Farmworker Housing Complexes c. A farmworker housing complex is not allowed in any area designated as a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. We say that isn't being in and surrounded by miles and miles of VHFHSZ  zone not count ? ?  AMCAL ...  NO FARMWORKER HOUSING IN VERY HIGH FIRE SEVERITY ZONES .  Find another location safe to build your project. One would assume that a AMCAL project of this magnitude would prioritize farmworker safety rather than neglect it entirely. AMCAL appears to be a company that prioritizes profit over the safety of farmworkers. It seems clear from their proposal that they do not genuinely care for the hardworking farmworkers, or they would consider relocation to a safer place away from the inherent dangers associated with 4884 N. Ventura Ave, particularly given its proximity to the Ventura Ranch area.

AMCAL is not an agricultural employer and is perceived as lacking concern for farmworker safety and the well-being of their families; otherwise, they would relocate this project to a site that is safe and convenient for farmworkers. Upon reviewing the VHFHSZ Local Response Area Fire Map, it seems unlikely that a wildfire would bypass Ventura Ranch, as common sense suggests the contrary. Farmworker Justice has been asked to intervene, as AMCAL appears to be acting out of self-interest.
